South of Stanton

by NEW CAROLINA

New Carolina is an Americana-Rock band with Country roots, whose members hail from both sides of its namesake, New Jersey and North Carolina. The band formed in the early spring of 2014, when Kyle Bridges (guitar and vocals), Coby Kalter (guitar and vocals), and Nick Agathis (drums) met in graduate school at NYU. They have since grown into a full five-piece band, enlisting friends Anna Folwell (vocals) and Kevin Schwartzbach (bass) to round out the lineup.

New Carolina first found their stride on stage, playing shows at venues across New York City, including Rockwood City Music Hall, Bowery Electric, Weigh Station, and Pianos. But realizing the potential of their original material, New Carolina got to work in late 2014 creating their debut EP, South of Stanton, with the help of Mochi House and friends. The crux of the band's original music comes from almost every band member. This foundation is evident through the collection of songs on South of Stanton, on which the songwriter runs lead vocals on their own songs. From deep-thinking ballads, to boot-stomping breakdowns and thunderous guitar riffs, New Carolina’s eclectic catalogue has a little something for most music lovers.
